Consequently, there are millions of orphans worldwide with no parents, let alone anyone to look up to or turn for help. I will live in 4 different countries throughout one year, one country per calendar season. During these periods, I dedicate myself to volunteering with orphans in each country….

Summer 2010, age 24: Find and meet my sister for the first time. Find out whereabouts of my father.
Spring 2011, age 25: Meet my father for the first time. My father and I went up to Oakland to see my sister, the first time he’s with both his daughters.
Summer 2011, age 25: Meet every single relative, including going to the grave site or pagoda where Ba Noi (Grandma) and Uncle, who unfortunately both past away fall 2010.

I’m very fortunate to have finally met everyone on my Vietnamese side. For those who are in similar situations, it can happen! Maintain faith, get your search on, and best wishes!

After meeting my sister for the first time at age 24, nearly one year later the time has arrived to come face to face with my father.
By age 25, I’ve gone through the motions and emotions of ‘what it would be like.’ Fact is stranger than fiction, be forewarned this video is real talk, live in the moment footage, and it aint all roses and rainbows.

After 25 years of wondering “why did my father leave me and my mother during pregnancy” and searching for him via the internet, unsuccessfully, throughout high school and college, I decided I’d give it one final go before giving it a rest.
The final time in search of a father and consequently, rest of my Vietnamese relatives, started with a road trip from Portland, Oregon to to California.

Our timing is not His timing, and apparently His timing was June 2010, starting with my never before met sister (same father, raised by different mothers) Maria.
